Chapter 49. Velvet Room
Savannah’s POV
“I was… just admiring it.”
“You were admiring the Velvet Room?” Logan asks, narrowing his eyes. Clearly, he doesn’t believe me.
“Yeah, it’s a pretty cool room,” I double down on the lie. “It’s like that room in Closer where Natalie Portman plays a stripper, you know what I’m talking about?”
I try to act normal and playful, but Harlan and Logan aren’t buying it. They exchange a look and don’t say a word, but I can hear their thoughts.
I think she’s a bit too drunk. — Harlan says.
We need to get her sobered up. — Logan agrees.
“I’m not drunk!” I protest.
“Yes, you are,” Harlan and Logan say in unison.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, I pull them both back into the Velvet Room before closing the door shut, saying, “You know what? Fine, come in here, I’ll tell you what happened.”
