I looked up at my mother, my heart aching with her concern. She was correct; the situation was dangerous, and being pregnant and unable to shift put me at a significant disadvantage. But I couldn't shake the feeling that staying with the pack was the right choice for me and my baby.
"Mother, I understand your worries," I began, trying to keep my voice steady. "But I believe that staying here with the pack is the best decision for us. We have Alpha Leon's assurance that he will protect us, and I have faith in our ability to overcome any challenges that come our way."
My mother's eyes were filled with frustration and love as she listened to my words. "You're risking too much, Isla," she said, her voice heavy with concern.
