Clair stood still for a second after Orion walked away, fists clenched, breath uneven.
"I'm going to the police."She didn’t even wait for Ray’s input this time and turned on her heel.
"Clair, wait."Ray grabbed her arm, clearly frustrated but not wanting her to do something reckless."That’s not going to help."He had seen something in Orion's eyes—something broken, hollow. Whatever this was, Ray couldn’t bring himself to believe that Orion had done something that twisted, at least not without reason. His own chest was tightening.
