Chapter 26. Enemy

"It's quite a shame that you'd fuck your way up to this point" Mark stopped smiling and pressed with a straight face. He straightened his back as he looked condescendingly over Val. 

He was truly hurt, envious and felt betrayed. The previous feelings he had towards Val that he thought had apparently ceased to exist resurfaced again, and ever since Maggie made mention of Val being with Bob, Mark had been furious.

Val had somewhat struck a big dent on his ego. Val didn't say anything as she just watched him with creased gaze and rapped a finger on the table.

"All for what... This?" He spread his arms to his side to point at everything around.

"Revenge?" Mark shook his head in disbelief, his face bitter and sour from how much he hurt. Mark paused and just stared at Val, he just shot his head forward and spread his arms as if inquiring a response.

For the longest of while, he was met with nothing but silence.

"Hahaha" Val burst into a fit of laug
