Chapter 34. Fireworks

THE MAN felt a sudden sharp pain piercing his skin. He looks down and sees her hand holding a knife that is still lodged in his abdomen. She took advantage of his confused state and continued stabbing him in his stomach. She then hears something falling out of his pocket. She ignores it. She was about to aim for his neck, but before she could do that, he already snapped out of his daze and shouted at her.

"Stop it! It’s..."

He was still saying something, but the fireworks muffled his words. The next thing she knew, in one swift motion, he took and threw the knife away, and he hugged her tightly. Tears trailed down her eyes, but her face remained unmoving, unsure what emotion to show.

She wasted her one chance to beat the man and escape, but does she really want to kill him?

The fireworks display died down shortly after. She then shouted at him, "You lying fucking cunt!"

She slaps him hard and continues pounding lightly on his chest. "I should be mad but
