Chapter 1
Felicity's Pov
It takes one bad day for a person's life to change.
My name is Felicity Stone. I grew up having basically everything handed to me by my father, Moses Stone, the current CEO of Stone Corp.
I grew up never lacking a single thing. I was the perfect daughter. I had both smarts and looks.
I was also going to be replacing my father soon as the CEO. My life was nothing but perfect.
That was until everything changed... The once graceful life I had was turned up-side-down. All it took was one bad day, one phone call for all hell to break loose...
I started my day as usual - a shower, work-out, yoga, and make-up.
I basked in the glory of my beauty, my hourglass figure complimented my height. My brown eyes only seemed to make my hair glow.
"Perfect," I said to myself satisfied with my reflection.
My phone beeped, it was a message from our company's hospitals.
After reading the message, I quickly rushed to the hospital.
"Daddy!" I hugged him as he laid on the bed.
The doctors explained that he had a cardiac arrest and that it was the third one this month. They conducted several tests on him and found out that he has a brain tumor and needs to stay bed ridden for effective care.
My heart sanked. I felt like waking up from this bad dream, but it ended up becoming a much terrible nightmare.
I stayed with my dad the entire day, he kept reassuring me that everything will be alright. He also transferred ownership of the company to me as I'd have to fill in for him.
"But what if I'm not good enough? What if I'm not ready? And who's going to take care of you?"
"You do realise this is my hospital right?" He placed his hand on my head. "You're my daughter, I know you'll make me proud. Now, go home and rest."
"Please be well."
"I love you Kiddo."
The next day, I woke up to see that I had missed a dozen phone calls from the same person - It was my dad's lawyer. I called back and he told me to watch the news, I knew it had to be something big as he didn't bother specifying the channel. And I was right...
The headlines read "Stone Corp Stock crashes, is Bankruptcy Imminent?"
I gasped, how could the stocks drop so low? We really were at the verge of bankruptcy and I hadn't even been to the office yet. What will happen to dad now?
As if on cue, I received another email from the hospital, it was revealed that the hospital is no more affiliated with Stone Corp And as such - they listed the bills I had to pay in order to keep my father's treatment going.
I felt like exploding. I sat silently in my room for hours, pondering on what to do.
In order to keep the company from going Bankrupt I'd need to get a loan of over 300 Million Dollars and and extra 50 Million for my dad's treatment.
I was stranded with no way out... Slowly being consumed by despair.
That was until I saw a familiar face on the news. I knew what I had to do. But I wasn't going to like it...
Hours passed and I stoof before a tall building - It was the head branch of our rival firm, Arise Tech. I made my way in and booked a reservation to see their CEO - Joseph Dale.
Joseph and had a past in college, it was during a period when I wasn't of my best behaviours, I tormented and bullied this kid who always wore rags to school.
But 3 years ago, he resurfaced in my life as the CEO of a new firm who later went on to become our greatest competitors.
"Miss Felicity, follow me please." The attendant lead me to his office.
I had expected to be made to wait a century before I could see him but I guess he wanted to gloat to my face that badly.
His office was as solemn as my father's, I was honestly impressed by his transformation from literally rags to riches.
Joseph stood in front of his desk, I almost couldn't recognise him. Was he always this tall and well-built?
"Well, well, well. If it isn't my old bully, Felicity. To what do I owe the pleasant visit?"
"Cut the crap, Dale. You're a smart man, you already know why I'm here."
"I do, but what's the point if I don't hear you say it with your filthy mouth?"
Joseph didn't hesitate to assault me verbally, he's truly gotten arrogant after making it big.
But that didn't matter. What mattered was that...
"I need your help... Please."
"You need my help with what?" He smirked.
I swallowed every ounce of my pride as I lowered my head.
"To save my father's company from bankruptcy and to pay for his medical bills. I need a loan."
"Will $500 million do?"
I nodded my head. "Yes, I will pay back everything with interest within 2 years."
"No."
"What?"
"Did I stutter?"
Joseph approached me, he looked menacing enough to make me take several steps back until I was back against the wall.
I gulped. I wanted to just turn and leave, but I couldn't.
"You won't pay me back in two years, you'll pay me back immediately by becoming my slave."
Before I could snap at him. He held his finger to my lips.
"And before you curse me. Did you really think I'd just willingly help you after the things you did to me? Hell no, I will make you regret ever stepping foot into this building."
He pulls out a document and shoves it to my face.
"Sing these, it's your slave contract."
Did he already anticipate that I'd come to him for help? I didn't have time to think about that now, I've already opened Pandora's box.
