Chapter 138. Rowan’s Anger
Kara's heart tingled at Frank's whisper, but she didn't reply again. She let the CEO walk to his study, then she headed to Emily's room. Her daughter must not suffer again today.
Meanwhile, behind the door, Louis' cheek was still pressed against the board. His eyes narrowed, sharpening his concentration. However, after a few seconds, his ears could not catch any sound.
"Why are they whispering? I can't steal any information," he grumbled with furrowed brows.
After considering for a moment, Louis took a book and a pencil. Sitting at the table, he muttered, "Even though I don't understand, I can't just stay still. I have to get in on the action too."
All morning, Louis and the book stayed together. They only separated when Louis had breakfast and went to the toilet. Even when it was around lunchtime, he went to the dining room with the book.
"Thinking hard makes me hungry. I have to eat a lot."
