Chapter 62. Promise
“We need to kill him,” Eleanor suggested, her expression darkening. “You know how long we’ve planned for this, Ricardo. I can’t let anyone destroy it.”
Ricardo’s eyes widened in shock.
“Do you even hear what you’re saying?” he asked. “We can’t kill him. His parents will go berserk once we do, especially since he’s staying with us!”
“Then, what do you want me to do? Let him go, so he could report us to the police or his parents?!”
“That’s not what I’m saying, but I’m telling you to calm down!”
Ricardo and Eleanor started arguing, and their voices echoed in the entire living room, which made River think that they could use this time to run away.
