Book 3: Chapter 42
“Explain, Irene,” Edward was the first to find his voice and he asked without his eyes leaving Naomi and at that moment, they shone a bright blue as he perused her. He heaved a sigh of relief second later and his eyes toned down to midnight blue.
“It’s not me that needs to explain but Asher, don’t you think?” Irene asked.
“Asher, I don’t understand, what is going on?” Naomi asked, feeling scared and anxious at the same time.
Asher licked his lips, wanting to comfort her but also knowing that he needs to answer his elders. “It-it just kind of happened. I can’t even explain it. I just saw it this morning and had to bring her over to hear from you, aunt Irene.”
“Why me, what can I do, you have marked her,” Irene replied.
“The good thing is that the mark has not been embedded on her soul,” Edward spoke up, his eyes going to his son now, “and that is because you have not accepted it. The mating mark cannot lay a claim to a soul if the marker does not accept
