By the time the moon rose directly above the opening in the ceiling, Diana had stopped pulling against the chains.

There was no point.

The silver had rubbed the fur raw around her legs, and every attempt to shift back had ended with pain tearing through both of us before the change could begin. We had learned to lie still unless someone came close.

That didn’t mean Diana had stopped wanting to kill them.

I hate her.

Cressida stood near the edge of the circle, speaking quietly with one of her assistants.

I could reach her if they took off one chain.
