The meeting with Don Cesare Lombardi was arranged three days later. And Rico did not hold it at The Palazzo.
This was not council business. This was family business, and family business deserved a different kind of room. So he chose one of the Romano private estates sitting quietly outside the city, away from the noise and the politics.
The air was calmer there. The walls didn’t have ears. And if things went in a direction Rico didn’t like, he preferred that it happened somewhere he fully controlled.
