Chapter 76. Rain Torment
Calla blinked, her stomach twisting. Who was this Leah, and how does Rico know her name? Why did he look at her like that? She wanted to ask, but her throat felt tight.
Rico’s gaze stayed on Leah for a moment longer, soft and familiar, then he finally turned back to Calla. His expression had suddenly turned darker as he noticed her bruises.
Calla shifted slightly, hugging the robe around her a little tighter. She didn’t like how small she suddenly felt.
Why did he look at Leah like that? Did she matter more than her?
He suddenly approached her where she sat. His steps were heavy and short. With a bent knee, he squatted to her height.
“What is this? Who the fuck hurt you?” He growled, passing a look to Leah, as if accusing her of hurting Calla.
“Did you do this to her, Leah?” Rico asked, standing straight.
Calla’s eyes widened. Her words got stuck in her throat, and she quickly shook her head, but Leah spoke instead.
