Dana released the newcomer, who now turned her attention back to the crowd with an uncertain, almost hesitant energy. Her hands hung loosely at her sides, the long black hair shifting like liquid silk with every small movement.
“Hi. My name is Eulalie,” she said softly, her voice carrying an odd mixture of nervousness and determination. She smiled faintly, lifting one hand and giving everyone a timid wave. “Emily said that I should come here if I ever got in trouble, so… here I am.” She shifted her weight slightly, and from the waist up, she looked like a normal young woman in her mid-twenties—though there was something quietly unnerving in the intensity of her dark eyes, which seemed to swallow Mike whole.
