“If you think being pinned between two idiots frightens me, you’ve got another thing coming,” Lily spat, her claws flexing as she readied herself. The room seemed to pulse with tension, the smell of scorched wood and faint traces of magic lingering in the air. She could see Underbite’s eyes glazing over, the dull haze of pain and surprise washing across them, while Hat’s eyes were wide with pure, seething rage.
Crouching low, she sprang forward, launching herself at Underbite. The impact knocked the creature to the ground with a grunt, and she twisted her tail with precision, stabbing repeatedly into its torso. The moans that escaped it were almost musical in their agony, high-pitched and pathetic. Lily allowed herself a smirk as she surveyed her handiwork. One down.
“One to go,” she murmured, eyes narrowing toward Hat.
