Author's POV
She took a sip but quickly set the cup back on the tray. The sight of the egg and bread, instead of making her hungry, stirred a wave of nausea. She turned her head, trying to fight it, but it was no use. She threw up in the bath and winced sharply at the pain.
If she were home, she would've reached for her herbal pain relief spray, one of the few things she could only get in Africa. It had always worked wonders for her. She had felt this pain before, during her first pregnancy. The memory brought back images of Kenneth and the trauma he had inflicted. She had sworn to get revenge.
But then Jack came into the picture. He complicated things. Without him, she would’ve still been struggling to make money and carry out her plans. Now she had millions in her possession. And it hadn't even been that long, barely two months. Would she have earned that much on her own? Not even close.
