Chapter 1

Adventure takes place in my blood. Since my childhood, I have loved to follow the stories of haunted houses and the adventures of the people who live in those houses.

So when I was twenty, I started my adventure journey by searching for and moving between the houses that people claimed were haunted by ghosts.

Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself to you. My name is Razan, and I am now forty years old. In this book, I will narrate about my journey inside some haunted houses, and I will tell the stories of some of the ghosts I met. Let's start with this house on top of the hill.

Half an hour after midnight, the darkness cuts through the lights of burning fires in the house on the top of the hill, and the sounds of screams emanating from it break the stillness of the night. Despite all this, no one moves to help, and no one even comes out trying to approach to extinguish the fire.

Minutes away, the giant clock strikes in the heart of the square. The village is empty in the morning; the stillness of the night returns; the fires disappear, and the sounds of screams disappear with them, as if nothing had happened.

In the early morning with the first rays of the day, in the small village, which is located in one of the states of North America, with a small number of residents and whose houses do not exceed one hundred, and where each house is about an acre away from the other, there is this empty house of residents that no one dares to enter. Approaching it, the villagers call it "Alice's House," and no one in the village talks about it, but despite their silence, everyone knows that the most heinous murder occurred there: a man killed his entire family.

Inside a small car, silence, calmness, and perhaps sadness pervade its passengers, each of whom thinks about his past and guesses what will happen in the coming days.

The father, who had to move because of the large number of debts and his inability to spend, is worried about where he will take them. Will he find an apartment or a small house in which they can live, and what will they do there? About the boys’ studies, will there be a school or will their studies be at home?

And behind where the children sit, the girl sits listening to music through earphones, and she is angry at leaving her friends and her life and moving into the unknown, while the boy is busy playing on his phone and does not care about what is happening, but he is almost the only one happy to move away from those kids who were bothering him.

Hours passed while they were on the road, until the world became dark for them while they were on the borders of a quiet village. Whoever sees it at night thinks it is empty of residents. He approached one of the houses that was still lighting the entrance to its house, then he stopped, got out of his car, and went forward to knock on the door. After a while, I looked. An old lady watched from the window next to the door, then opened the door a little while saying

"Who are you?"I haven't seen you in the village before."

"We were passing by, and the night was dark, and my family and I did not reach our destination."

"How many people are you?"

"Four."

"Well, you can stay at my house until the morning, and I'll go get them."

The man turned around and went talking to his wife and children, and after a few minutes he returned them to the house, whose door was open, and the lady was standing inside after several steps to allow them to pass, and she was lighting candles, so the man looked outside where the lamp was, and he noticed that it also resembles the lamps of the past in which a candle is placed inside to light it. minutes, and everyone had gone into deep steadfastness due to the length of the journey and the exhaustion that afflicted them. In the morning, they all sat with the small family that hosted them, consisting of an old woman and two young women the age of the little girl.

They sat down to eat, and while exchanging conversations, the father told the old lady that he was looking for a house or a small apartment to spend some months in so that he could work and pay off the debts accumulated on him in order to return to the city. The father left his family and went to the house of the chief of the village, where he met him with a smile, despite his shabby appearance, which resembled that of the dead.

They sat together in the garden of his house, where he was digging a large hole in the ground that looked like a grave, and when he told him that he was looking for a house or an apartment, his eyes sparkled, and he said, "All the houses in the village have their own residents, except for Alice's, because the owner travelled years ago and left the key with me. You can rent it for free, as she does not want money."

"really like this"

"I tell you one more thing; I will give it to you as a present, and you may stay with us always. You will love our village."

The man returned happily to his family after he took the key and learned the location of the house, and he bid farewell to the old lady after everyone got into the car.

Before the family left, one of the girls told him to be careful not to live in Alice's house, but before she could say the reason, the old lady pulled her inside and smiled, saying:

"Children will never finish figments of imagination, my dear."

The father laughed and bid farewell to them and took his family, then set out quickly before the night to attack, and when he reached Alice's house, he found it a large house with three floors and a front garden and a back garden; the floor of the house was made of beech wood, full of furniture, and clean as if someone lived in it, she said. The mother is surprised.

"Victor, are you sure no one lives here?"

"Yes, Sidra. One of the residents also told me this, and the village chief confirmed it. He even gave me the key himself and said it was a gift for us to stay here forever."

Sidra looks anxiously at Victor and then signals for him to come forward first, but at her signal, Jerry Ridge, who is eight years old, comes forward and he screams.

"I will choose my room first."

Lara was still sitting in the car with the phone headphones in her ear, not caring about what was going on outside the car. Her father opened the door from next to her, then pulled the speaker screaming.

"Will you come down, princess, and carry my bags with me to the new house?"

Lara with a look of anger: "Yes, father, I will only carry my bags, and let you know, I will not stay here for more than one year."

"I hope so too."

Then he closed the door and opened the luggage section at the back of the car. Lara carried three pink bags and went to the house, but she saw a girl with brown hair covering half of her face and a dirty white dress.

"Dad, look over there."

"where"

"The window in the attic"

"What's up?  I can't see anything but the curtains."

"What! There was a girl there; where did she go?"

"Well, hurry up and send your brother to me."

"Good"

Lara entered the house and went up to choose a room at the end of the corridor overlooking the back garden of the house. She started arranging her clothes and her private things and completely forgot about her father. After two hours had passed, she noticed her mother’s voice calling her to go down to dinner. She opened the door of her room and went to the ground floor to find her father sitting with his hand on his mobile phone and talking with the village chief.

"Yes, yes, we found the house clean and tidy, and we found food in the refrigerator."

He hung up the phone, turned to the table, and smiled at Sidra.

"The ruler is the one who sent some workers to clean and arrange the house and prepare the supplies because there was a family who would buy it before us, but I travelled to the city and did not return, so he gave me the house."

"Oh, that's good luck for us. Let's pray, darling. May the Lord bless us with food."

Holding hands, the father claimed to save food and save them, and after the completion of the ritual everyone began to eat.

"Is there any complaint from your room?"

"It is good."

"and you, Ridge?"

"Super"

"Beautiful. I am pleased to enjoy your new house, but Mama, Lara is one year old. Get back to the city and promise - one year."

Everyone went to their room after I reassured the father of the closure of all the ports and the gas line well and extinguish all lights only. Featured in the corridor, she performed for a small room, and Lara and I wish her a happy night.

Lara got into bed and put the earphones in before turning on the light to hear some quiet music, and shortly after the registration was closed and I put them next to them, a slim Tammy woke me up at 3 am to the voice on the wall of the room and the sound of calling.

"Alice... Alice... Come, everyone, we have"

Lara got up and went to a small window next to the bed, but she did not find anyone. She turned to go back to the bed, thinking that she was dreaming, but suddenly she heard the sound of a child's laughter next to the door and began to shout angrily.

"You know, Ridge, if I catch you, I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget."
