Elle was stunned and glanced at her boyfriend. "Darling?"

"Oh, I—" Ludwig began.

"So, this is the friend you mentioned, Lud?" Pauline interrupted, putting on a sweet smile.

Ludwig looked at Pauline. "Yes, this is Elle, my beautiful girlfriend," he declared firmly in front of Pauline.

"Hi, nice to meet you," Elle greeted Pauline warmly.

Pauline was surprised by Ludwig's openness. "Oh hi, I'm Pauline. Nice to meet you too. I happen to be an old friend of Ludwig's."

Elle smiled, "Oh really? It's nice to meet you, Pauline. I've brought you breakfast. I hope you like it." Elle handed over a lunch box to Pauline.

"Alright then, you should discuss with the village head about what you'd like to do here," Ludwig said to Pauline, then turned to Elle. "Let's go, dear, they must be waiting for us," Ludwig continued softly to Elle.
