Chapter 6
Avery could not shake off the feeling that something monumental had happened in her life. The ignoring from the students was still the same, but she could still feel the intense eyes of the Top Dogs, and like an irresistible pull, she would catch herself staring back at them. It was no surprise that they started appearing in her dreams; she had these strange feelings that made her feel that there was more to all of this than what met the eye.
Avery tossed and turned in bed, her mind restless as she drifted into a deep sleep. Then, as she closed her eyes, a strange sensation washed over her. She felt like she was floating, weightless and free. Then, she saw them.
The boys from the cafeteria were there, surrounding her in a circle. Their eyes were intense and focused on her, their wolfish features more prominent than ever. Avery felt a strange mix of fear and fascination wash over her as she looked at them.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, her voice barely above
