Everything was red.
The smell of burning flesh permeated the entire, making the six-year-old girl cover her nose with her trembling hands. The screams of terror and growls of anger outside the wooden cabin had long been silenced.
The door slammed open.
The little girl immediately recognized the smell of familiarity from the person who barged in. With this in mind, the little girl uncovered the blanket which wrapped her small body and took a peek to that person—the source of her bravery and hope.
“Papa?”
The little girl’s pupils dilated upon seeing the state her father was in.
Growing up, it was instilled in her young mind that her father was the strongest and the mightiest among others—her hero. She always remembered his wide shoulders that often carried her; his strong and firm arms that held her gently and securely; and his tall stature that towered over her mother’s petite figure.
