Chapter 70. They Arrived Too Late

“They’re going to die like they did.”

A soft monotone voice turned Diana’s attention from the empty space before her to the direction of the one who had spoken. For a moment, when their eyes met, her heart thumped for reasons she could not possibly comprehend.

Unlike Talia, Diana felt a connection with Talia.

Was it because she knew Talia’s demise that she felt this agitation? Was it guilt?

Diana did not know.

In a raspy voice, Diana forced herself to speak. “T-Talia?”

Talia was about to step forward when she was reminded of the incident earlier. A certain grumpy wolf would kill her if her scent lingered around Diana, she was sure of it. Instead, Talia stood a meter away from Diana. She hovered over her and spoke.

“I have a lot of questions, but that can wait.” Talia looked back to the cave’s entrance. “Your mate will kill the uninvited guests just like he always did.” Talia pointed to the heads lumped together next to Diana.

Diana gasped.
