Chapter 33
Cassandra walked down the streets of New York, feeling a gentle wind ruffle through her hair. It was evening, a few minutes past five, and the sky was a lovely swirl of orange and red. She trooped down the sidewalk with hundreds of New Yorkers, watching cars zoom past her.
She had grown incredibly tired of Andino’s home. For a huge house, it felt quite empty. She missed her tiny apartment so much. It wasn’t the best, and it certainly didn’t have a huge ass bed that felt so fucking comfortable but still couldn’t make her sleep, but it was home. It was cozy, and it wasn’t so far away from Aria.
She had turned and walked around her room all day, worked a bit after forcing herself to, and then decided she would go crazy with it all. Her head hurt like crazy, pounding wildly with each lift of her legs and each step of her feet. Her eyes were the same as they had been three days ago. Bloodshot. Tired. Red rimmed.
