“From the look on your face, I’m guessing you saw that?” Keith grumbled, adjusting Cassandra such that an arm was under her knees while another supported her back. She let out a soft noise and snuggled deeper into his chest, sighing.
If he wasn’t so tired, he may have thought that was adorable.
“Your mother has a point,” Melete grumbled, folding her arms.
Keith arched a brow at her response. “Why do I have a feeling you were the one who called her here?”
Melete’s cheeks reddened. Anyone else could have gotten away with lying. But not her. She was one of the muses. They were known for chastity and honesty, if anything. To Keith, that was such a big deal because Zeus, their father, was the exact opposite.
“I was right, wasn’t I?” He said, stepping closer to her, dark gaze piercing into Melete’s very soul. “You do realize what almost happened, right?”
