Chapter 106. Before the Match
The Cirque was full of spectators watching the fights when Red and Ursula arrived. The duel between Aamon and Jonah hadn’t started yet; it was scheduled as the seventh match, and the current fight was the fifth.
Red sat down, eyes scanning the area for Aamon and Jonah, but they were nowhere to be seen. Instead, Red watched the ongoing battle between a fighter and a spearman. Both appeared inexperienced but were filled with high spirits.
Red became absorbed in observing the fighters' movements, analyzing their techniques, whether self-taught or martial arts-based. Red's left eye provided data on the percentage of each punch or strike's effectiveness.
“I need to learn how to use a short trident, but it seems really hard to master,” Red muttered.
“Your weapon indeed has about 60 percent damage potential, Red. It requires someone with great strength. You’re more agile, so the trident may not be the best fit for you,” Ursula commented.
Red turned to Ursula,
