Chapter 114. The Conspiracy?

Red had resigned herself to death as the gate continued to close, sealing her and Ursula outside in the freezing void. But suddenly the rope jerked, pulling Ursula back into the ship just as the gate closed completely.

In the now silent room, only Og and Bismut remained; there was no sign of Uho or Aurum.

Red, furious, immediately extended her palm, mimicked by Ursula.

"I'm going to blow you all to pieces for almost getting me killed out there!" she shouted. "Where are Uho and Aurum?"

Bismut rushed toward her, hands raised in a reassuring gesture. "Please, lower your weapon."

"Where are they? Did they try to kill me?"

"No, Red," Bismut said, shaking his head. "The equipment here froze, and we couldn't operate it. Uho and Aurum took over from central command."

Red lowered her hand, though her anger simmered.

"The door was deliberately closed slowly to prevent further damage," Bismut explained. "We apologize for your discomfort."
