Chapter 208. Into the Core

Jonah saw two bodies fall past him and quickly grabbed them with both hands. He was shocked to see Dash and Cotton unconscious and Cotton already dead with burns covering his body. 

Reluctantly, Jonah let go of Cotton's body and carried Dash to the top of the core.

At the top, Jonah saw that the floor of the core room had almost completely collapsed. The Assassins had tied ropes around the core's pillars to support their weight. Ursula was also clinging to a pillar, unable to fly at all.

"Jonah! Stop them!" Prim yelled, pointing at Viz.

Jonah quickly laid Dash's body down next to Fox and flew upward. Seeing him, Viz immediately launched her attack, combining wind and fire. 

Jonah dodged and, lacking the energy to hold her arms, resorted to hand-to-hand combat, focusing his remaining energy on staying airborne.

"You've always been my favorite, Jonah. Join me, and I'll spare your life," Viz said in her flat tone.
