Chapter 70. Upper Hand

Edna’s words put more pressure on me. I feel Dominic’s eyes on me, but honestly I don’t know what he’s thinking.

I lick my lips, take a sip of white wine, then smile.

“Sorry everyone, maybe not today.”

I saw everyone’s surprised expressions when I refused. They whispered to each other with displeasure.

“What? She refused?”

“It’s hard to believe. Dominic’s fiancée seems to be more arrogant than I thought. At first I was very impressed with her friendliness but now it’s gone.”

“I assume she didn’t want to do ballet because she had low self-esteem and was afraid that she would lose to Edna. After all, Edna Mohini is also the goddess of ballet in the Angels, and Esther is not very famous.”

Edna didn’t look surprised when she heard me say that. Because she knew for sure that I had to make a choice. Firstly, I agree, then I will be compared to her and people will constantly argue about who is more worthy of being with Dominic between me and Edna.
