Despite what’s happened and my new found respect for life, I despise her for what she’s done to me, what she put me through. I was willing to support her, stay with her despite having a mate. I was willing to push Virginia away- who I note is not here- and make a go of it for our child… I don’t even know if that baby she’s carrying is even mine.

Does she know what’s even going on? What’s happened to me?

“Hi Deac,” she whispers, “I’m so glad you’re ok.” If not for my sensitive wolf hearing, I wouldn’t have heard a word she just said. She looks… shy? Like how she used to when we first met. This is such a different side of her, and I’m not sure if I like it. She’s always so ballsy and vibrant.

“Why are you here?” I ask gruffly, unsure of my emotions.
