Chapter 19

As I closed my eyes, I could see his face. When I laid in bed, I had a distinct impression that I had waited for him to return. My eyes felt tired, and while I struggled to remain awake, I heard him out in the hallway, albeit not as many obscenities. Once again, I closed my eyes and prepared to go to sleep.

I had been sleeping soundly for a while when a loud bang on the door awakened me. Immediately, I got up from my bed and headed toward the source of the noise. When I opened it, Lee walked right in without having to be asked.

“Hey, what do you think you are doing?” I asked after he comfortably settled down in my bed.

Even though he didn’t answer, he started snoring heavily on my bed a few moments later. I had no idea what time it was, but  I was stuck with something heavy on my thighs when I woke up.
