Emma stepped down from the bed, her bare feet touching the cool wooden floor. She walked to the vanity, where a large mirror reflected her determined expression. On the table was a small box, already open, revealing a hidden camera and a compact recording device. She picked them up, examined them briefly, and then gently placed them into her handbag.

“This is the best chance to gather information,” she murmured to herself, a faint smile forming on her lips.

After dressing neatly, Emma headed downstairs. Jackson was waiting for her in the living room, but his face appeared colder than usual. He wore a charcoal gray suit that highlighted his sharp and mature appearance.

“Good morning, Jackson,” Emma greeted, trying to lighten the mood.

“Morning,” he replied curtly, his eyes still focused on his phone.
