Meanwhile, Anna held her phone tightly as tears streamed down her face. She felt betrayed and furious. Deep down, she had long suspected the relationship between Ricard and Emma. But she had always tried to trust him, hoping it was just her imagination.
Yet tonight, when both Ricard and Emma disappeared, her suspicions became stronger than ever. She couldn’t stand the thought that Ricard might have feelings for someone else—especially for Emma, whom she had always seen as a rival.
