Chapter 68. The Fight

The remaining thugs gathered around, mocking and mimicking Emma’s every gesture and word in an exaggerated manner. One of them, pretending to be flirtatious, imitated Emma’s walk, swinging a baseball bat back and forth as if performing a humorous dance. “Look at me, I’m the strong lady! Don’t mess with me, I can take you all down with my superhuman strength!” he shouted, his voice mockingly feeble before bursting into raucous laughter.

Emma stood still, her expression unchanging, her cold gaze fixed on the thugs before her. She didn’t respond to their taunts, but her icy stare made a few of them hesitate, if only for a moment. Ricard stood beside her, observing the entire scene with a calm demeanor, not revealing any reaction. However, deep within his eyes, a flicker of anger began to ignite as he watched these men belittle Emma so brazenly.

Seeing that Emma wasn’t reacting, the leader grew more arrogant. He raised his baseball bat high, making a motion as if to strike h
