Chapter 25
Candice giggles and shakes her hair while leaning on the table, as if she really wanted to tell the most interesting thing in the world.
I keep my head down, raising my eyes from time to time to add an outline of Henry's strokes to my drawing. It remains still even when I make the last touches and turn the drawing ready so that it can see.
I lean on the iron seat and tilt my head back, taking the moment to stretch and yawn. The sky seems even darker, even if the sun insists on crossing some clouds. It's not tea time yet, so I assume it's no later than four in the afternoon. Even so, the remnant of rain of a whole week remains among the most grayish clouds.
I startle when I feel the notebook hit my hand lightly and straighten my body. Staring at the page filled with grayish contours at the reach of my fingers, I frown.
