Chapter 79

MELISSA

"I'm here, I'm home, Mom," I whisper with my eyes still closed.

Hugging the person I love most in the world allows me to remember the last time I was doing this with her. The last time I hugged my mother, we were crying because I was leaving, but I'm home now.

"I still can't believe you're here, darling!" she snaps, and seconds later, I feel his hands touching my face.

My vision is clouded by tears, but I see my mother's face, she looks like the same person I've always loved.

"You look so beautiful, I've missed you so much!" she says, and I smile when I see tears wetting her face at that moment.

My mother hugs me tightly again, and I feel good when I smell her. Here and now, I feel like a little girl, I'm back to being the little Melissa who always loved being with her mother.

Being here with her makes me want to stay here forever again. It hurts me so much to think that I will have to go back to the United States without my family,
