MELISSA

"I always knew you'd turn out to be a great person, sister," my sister says, her eyes shining with some kind of pride.

We continued cooking, and I was missing eating Brazilian food. I was missing eating my mother's wonderful food.

"I guess nothing's changed since I left, right?" I ask, and I turn around when I see them in silence.

I frown when I see my sister looking at me with a smile, and I know her, and I know she's going to tell me something I don't know yet.

"Did something happen?" I ask, confused, when I see that my mother is smiling too.

"Well, I've got some news!" my sister says, and I widen my eyes when I see her hands touching her belly.

"Oh my God, are you pregnant?" I ask in surprise as I stop chopping the vegetables, and she nods.

"Yes, I found out a few days ago that I met a good man, and he's good to me and Valentina, and I feel happy. So you'll have another nephew or niece, Melissa."

I smile and run to hug
