Chapter 54. Christmas Eve

"Leave the wine in the fridge, it's for my in-laws," I said referring to Colton and Ryan, Jasmine's younger brothers.

"Alright, Mr. Jason." Lisa packed up the empty cartons of wine and proceeded to the incinerator to burn them.

It was noon but the sun was not in sight. Instead, the entire surrounding was covered with snow.

My wife walked in looking sad, she had a towel around her neck. She stood staring at nothing for a while until I called out to her.

"Oops! I I was..."

"Yes?"

"My brothers are not coming again, they do not have enough for the fare."

"Just that? Or is there anything else?"

"I don't think so,"

"You are still with my credit card, why not use it?"

"I can't use it without your permission."

Her statement reminded me of my ex girlfriend who nearly rendered me homeless by extorting money from the company's wallet.

She was making me believe that she was a different lady who didn't put much
