My aunt called out to her husband but he didn't respond, he only kept staring down at us.

"He's gotten better now, yeah" I interrupted her. "I'm sorry," I apologized.

I just needed to say something so that her attention can be directed at me.

"Yes, I did but right now he's fine aren't you?" I forced a smile at him while I watched my aunt's face from the corner of my eye.
