Aleksander was stubborn and there was no getting past his request. Of course I knew it that he had a club grand opening tonight, but I thought there was an understanding between us I wasn't going. If I was still performing, then I would have been at the theater tonight instead.

Perhaps if I had left his office when that call came in instead of crawling under his table, he wouldn't have thought to tag me along but here I was......
