Chapter 23

When I opened my eyes, the familiar color of the hospital greeted me. I frowned and roamed my eyes and saw Wyatt sitting and stooping, probably asleep. He was folded and his tux was hanged on the seat next to him.

We were in a room and there were apparatus next to the bed but that didn’t connect to me because I just slept and I wasn’t in pain. When I remembered daddy I quickly rolled over and that created a noise in bed so Wyatt woke up as well.

“Bernice,” he called and stood up while rubbing his eyes with one hand.

I ignored him and went straight out of the bed, I no longer put on my heels and turned to walk out of the room.

“Bernice!” I heard him follow and when I came out I went straight to the emergency room.

I saw the familiar doctor so I approached him. When he saw me he was stunned and didn’t seem to know what to do.

“Doc,” I called while panting, “I… I’m sorry f
