Chapter 127
Aiden and Liam insisted on staying back and helping the guards find the killer. Meanwhile, the Pack Alpha asked my mother to keep me company. My breath was still coming out shaky, slight tremors going through my body, knees wobbly as I walked to my cabin.
Once inside, I showed my mother around, making sure to make a nice meal since we both were hungry.
"Thank you for letting me in, my dear."
"Mom! It's nothing. Besides, I have been thinking of asking you to come live with me anyway." I admitted, cheeks feeling hot, toes lazily tracing the carpeted floor. "Thank you for coming along."
"Anything for you." She placed a warm, comforting hand on top of mine, almost making me jerk at the abrupt touch. "Now, you should get some rest, Rose. I will sit here till your mate comes back, hmm?"
I opened my mouth to protest, ready to argue, but when she gave me a sharp look, I had no choice but to get up.
