I woke up on the floor of the basement a few hours, or even a day later. I couldn't be sure. I didn't want to believe what actually happened, happened.

There is no way Dreaya was here. And no way did she steal my dead father's head. But the reality was glaring as the broken shards of glass pierced my skin the moment I moved.

It was hard to get my body to move. So going back to the top of the house was a chore.
