Chapter 71
Rhye looked over his shoulder at Joseph, who blinked and glanced down at himself, then back up at her.
"Yes," he replied simply.
Livia nodded slowly, unsure what to make of his nonchalant response. She felt oddly detached, like she was underwater, kicking and swimming, trying to reach the surface but didn’t know which way was up.
Rhye’s big hands wrapping around the backs of her thighs brought her attention to him, where he was still kneeling before her. He tipped his head back to stare up at her, but his words were for Joseph.
"Livia doesn’t know what she is," Rhye murmured, his voice gentle. "I mean, aside from being a witch."
