She believed him when he said he wouldn’t break.
Gazing back at Leon, she murmured, “It’s okay. It’ll be faster this way.”
After a long, searching look, he nodded once in reluctant agreement and stepped back.
“Loon—”
Knowing Joseph was going to try and talk her out of it, she pushed up on tiptoe and silenced him with a kiss. Dropping back down, she laid her hands on his and Fear’s chests.
“I’m okay. You all are alive. I can deal with anything, as long as you’re with me.”
Alpha Rhye moved first, closing in at her back, his hands finding her hips and skimming along her curves gently. Those large hands she never thought she’d feel again nearly spanned her waist, touching her as if she were a priceless, fragile gift.
After another probing look, Joseph sighed and moved to position at her back, both of them refusing to go far, standing
