Chapter 15

"Mateo and I…we're getting married".

Annika said beaming with smiles as she showed Tallulah the 24 carat diamond ring on her left hand as she kept wiggling her fingers like a child.

The jug Tallulah was holding fell to the ground shattering into pieces as the grape juice spilled the tiled floor. Her hand was shaking as she stared at the wedding invitation card she was holding.

"Ma'am step aside". 

A guard said running towards Tallulah. She stepped aside and could not take her eyes off the spilled juice on the floor. Nothing was clear to her, even the floor soon became unclear to her as her eyes were watery with tears.

Annika rounded the table and went to meet Tallulah at the other end.

"Are you okay?"

She asked Tallulah and held her arm.

Tallulah was speechless. She could only afford to nod her head as her lips parted a little and closed again. They suddenly became dry and turned pale.
