Chapter 16

Annika paced back and forth normally making Tallulah cover a hand over her mouth to suppress a gasp. Her heart was beating extremely fast and poundly loudly, she could even hear the sound in her own ears. 

She took a step backwards and turned to leave when she matched a dry branch which made a sound and caught Annika's attention.

"Who's there?".

Annika asked coming towards Tallulah's direction. Tallulah turned to Annika immediately with a forced smile trying as much as possible to make it look natural.

"Lula". 

Annika called with a smile as she moved closer to Tallulah. She sounded so normal.

"Couldn't sleep too?".

Tallulah looked at Annika and saw her supporting her balance on a walking rod. She also had a full leg cast on.

"I didn't see you in your room and thought I'd come find you".

"I was practicing to walk in this casts and also use this walking rod to see if I can actually walk normal even with the injury ".
