Chapter 47. To Defend

After I check the house where Mark’s parents live and make another visit to the boy, I let my dogs into the house to keep them safe.
Mark’s convoy of trucks hasn't stopped since, and our spy hasn’t had a chance to look outside. This means they are probably halfway. I have to wake up Gabriel and get everyone ready to fight.
“I think it’s time to wake everyone,” I tell him. “I know that is not what we’ve agreed to do, but his parents are gone. They won’t tell him that we know he is coming.”
“What if he has more people here?” Gabriel grabs the door jamb. His knuckles turn white from the force.
“I doubt that. Even if he has, I suppose they’ve left the town by now,” I argue.
“All right. Let’s get everyone to safety and the fighters ready. I’ll send a mind link with a command for all pack members to come to the packhouse immediately.”
