With Sarah’s embrace, the pounding in my ears disappears, and her words soothe me back to reality, where the only thing that matters is that she is beside me.

More so in my lap, wrapping me in her intoxicating scent.

She must have felt my sudden change in emotions because the featherlight kisses she was leaving on the top of my head, moved to my face and jaw.
