Chapter 51. Tales of Old

Amber’s POV

Chase and I had the best alone time, talking and cuddling. He kept pestering me though, with mine and Blaze’s weird behavior and I kept changing the subject to something else. I didn’t want to make him upset, and I didn’t want Rose to know we were on to her. She looked suspicious enough when I ran into her in the hallway in our private wing, when I was going to be with Chase. I needed him to be distracted.

The girls came into our room just before lunch, and Elina was upset because we hadn’t told them we were there. We laughed at her pouty face, and kissed a cheek each, which made her smile in an instant.

At lunch things got really interesting, but I knew this would happen and therefore kept a straight face through it all.

“Chase, may I speak to you in private, please? Something has come up while your mate kept you away.” Rose says, her voice irritated and her eyes shooting daggers at me.
