Chapter 53. Word from Home

Amber’s POV

It’s been a few days since our conversation with Berion, and everyone has been so sweet to give me some time to progress everything. It’s been a lot, and I’ve used the majority of the time with my girls. Some will probably call it hiding, but I’m not. I just don’t know how to face the others after what Berion said, and after the magical portrait. I’m glad I shared it with my mates at the time, because I am not sure I would have had the heart to tell them afterwards.

After the meeting adjourned none of the other Royals, other than my mates and my parents would look me in the eyes. Some of them even avoid looking at me at all. I felt kind of weird, knowing they all heard what Berion said, and understood the underlying meaning in his words. I am supposed to take over the role of Queen of all the Dragons, and therefore make the current Royal line null and void.
