Chapter 31. No Such Beta

I woke with my body wrapped around Kellan. I never slept as well as I had last night. Something about knowing he was close by helped me settle more.

It was five, and as promised, Kellan had Beta Yori escort me to my room. Outside stood another Beta.

Beta Yori introduced him as Beta Ash. Apparently, Ash is one below him, and Kellan has insisted he always stays outside my room.

From what Yori said, Kellan seems to think I don't feel safe in my room, so Ash is there to ensure I am. It made no sense. We were all given a Beta when we arrived. Yet Yori insisted that they were purely for significant events and such and were prohibited from entering this hallway.

So, Kellan has given me one of his Betas that he feels he can trust. Is this because of the one who came and led me to the room? Nova? That he warned me I needed to sort it out today.
