Lola's POV

The rogue king?

I looked at Adrian, Lyla, and Avianca, and they all looked shocked, too. "B-but he's dead. He's dead, right?" I asked no one in particular as I sat on the floor with my head in my hands. 

I did not know how I felt about the piece of information. Fear? Anger? Pain? I did not know which one was more prominent. I was scared that the man who killed my parents was still on the lookout for me and would do anything to get me for himself. I was angry that he was still alive after ruining my life, and I wanted revenge on him. Jasmine was growling with anger in my head.

"Where did you see him? How did you know he was the one?" I asked rapidly. Adrian placed a hand on my shoulder, trying to calm me down. "If he was bold enough to show his face and kill Jayden, it must be that he isn't planning to hide anymore, and the war will be upon us soon," I said to Adrian, and he nodded in understanding. 

"I understand what you're trying
